Student Health & Wellbeing

At JCSRS, we do all we can to provide a happy, safe and healthy environment for our students, through pursuit of the following school-wide priorities:

– The encouragement of healthy eating and effective, balanced nutrition

– The promotion of exercise and physical activity

– The learning of resilience skills

– The pursuit of emotional health and wellbeing

If your son/daughter becomes unwell or is hurt at school they will be cared for by our registered school nurse Christine Cheung. You can contact her by phoning the school office on 27619893 or by email at:

The medical room is equipped with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as well as a portable oxygen tank and other first aid equipment. We give appropriate care for illness or accidents and liaise with student’s family members. We also assist in organising health related immunisations and annual dental & body checks, together with the Department of Health.

If your son/daughter becomes ill or injured during the school day, we will contact you to inform you of the situation.  If after seeing the nurse your child is not well enough to return to class, we will contact you to arrange for you (or a designated person) to take your child home.

Prescribed medication is administered following submission of the appropriate medication administration forms. Parents are required to maintain updated medical information on our ‘Gateway’ system.

Should your child require medicine to be administered at school, please read the Arrangement for Medication Administration and return the completed Short Term Medication Administration and/or Long Term/Emergency Medication Administration forms to school.

Please help us in this by encouraging concern for others and developing good health practices by observing the recommendations below:
