Principal’s Message

Our first secondary camp with Outward Bound was a real success with students having opportunities to try all sorts of activities that stretched and challenged them. Outdoor and group activities that are out of students’ normal routines and out of home really help to build independence, team work and a number of skills. Thanks to the staff who go over and above expectations to enable this camp to go ahead. Well organised and led by Mike and the team. Also fully supported by families – thank you.

Those students who stayed at school over those days also benefited from special activities.

I hear that the day in Disneyland was full of fun and enjoyed by all families. Thank you again to David and the PTA for the tickets.

Our annual Maths day was once again supported by our peers from KGV and KJS. It’s a great way to remember that Maths is part of our everyday lives and we all continue to learn together. Thanks to our Maths coordinator Heidi for leading the organisation.

Thank you to the sixteen families who provided feedback on the ESF survey. Staff and students also participated and all together the information has helped us begin to formulate our next three year strategic plan. We were also very fortunate to have our School Council Chair Virginia Morris with her co-facilitators (Sandy, Yvonne and Vera) lead us on a day of reflection, review and planning. We got creative, talked and listened and had a huge amount of fun. This day included people from all areas of our community. The outcome of the day added a lot of information for us to work with.

Very soon after we come back in term 3 we will be holding our Art Exhibition with the Nesbitt Centre. All the important information is in the poster below and we are looking forward to having all of you join us for the opening night on Thursday 26 April.

It’s not long until the Easter break so it’s time for some Easter celebrations.

Wishing you all a happy Easter

Safe and happy holidays

I wish you all a relaxing and happy school break and see you again on Monday 16 April.

Karin
