Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to the Jockey Club Sarah Roe School and thank you for visiting our website.

We are part of the English Schools Foundation (ESF), Hong Kong’s largest provider of English-medium international education. We are the only special school in Hong Kong delivering a curriculum in English. Our school was established in 1986 and named after Mrs. Sarah Roe who was a well-known occupational therapist in Hong Kong. The building was donated by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

We have an enrollment of 70 students with an age range of five to nineteen years. All students have additional learning needs. Many students have an Autism Spectrum diagnosis and some students have complex needs.

We are committed to providing the best education for our students, passionate about providing them with meaningful learning experiences which promote their development. We proudly offer a curriculum that is dynamic and balanced to ensure everyone is included and challenged. We have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, as well as providing opportunities for independence through living skills, community learning and a vocational education program.

Our teachers lead their class team through shared goals which are informed by parents, families, therapists, and support staff. Our school has a wonderful community feel and students benefit greatly from the inclusion programs with our neighbouring schools. We recognise the individual needs of all our children and through our committed and experienced staff, will work in partnership with you so that we can develop each child’s potential.

Please contact us if you would like more information or if you would like to meet with me. I want us all to continue to work together for every student to be the best that they can be.
