At JCSRS the learning and teaching of our Mathematics is focused on providing students with a broad range of Maths experiences, while tailoring materials and context according to our student’s ability, interests and experiences. Students at all levels are given opportunities to develop and apply their knowledge and skills in the following strands: Numbers, Pattern & Functions, Shapes & Space, Measurements and Data Handling.
Mathematics is delivered as a standalone subject in our school. At the same time, Mathematical key targets are also embedded into each Curriculum Unit and ASDAN module where appropriate.
There is a wide array of resources to support the teaching of Mathematics across the school including educational toys, audio visual aids, Maths Programmes, Numicon and Touch Maths.
